One of the greatest compliments for me as a photographer is when families choose to come back for a newborn session in the studio when they have another baby. I love seeing siblings who were newborns themselves not long ago gaze at their little brothers and sisters with so much love and pride.

This session was nothing short of perfect. Big sister was so patient and sweet while mama was absolutely gorgeous and dad was juggling it all like he’d been a dad forever. I go to church with this sweet little family and enjoy hearing mama sing and serve. What a blessing to see their family grow and document each milestone!

Holmes Family Glimpse | Norman Oklahoma Family Photographers

This has been the wettest Spring/Summer I can even remember here in Oklahoma and although it made for a crazy time scheduling during all the rain, the payoff is now. It’s July and still freshly green and wildflowers are still hanging around. (typically it’s bone dry and already drab brown by this time of year)

I wish I could schedule all my families like right now. Because the field is beautiful and the light is magical. I loved meeting this sweet family Friday night for their family portraits. We had fun trampling through the wildflowers and catching the glimpses of gorgeous light sparkling through the trees.

I’m opening up just a few weekend sunset sessions in July if you’d like a similar session! This is a great time to check this off your list and one less thing to do come Fall!

Well, this was no exception. This adorable little boy and his mama traveled to Oklahoma City all the way from Dallas, Texas and booked his six month photos with me. I was absolutely smitten with this little guy and it’s obvious why. Holy cuteness. He had all the smiles and all the squish.

This past Mother’s Day, I conducted a giveaway over on Instagram for a motherhood portrait session. When Keisha won, I was so excited to meet her and her adorable little boy in the studio for a session. She traveled to Oklahoma City all the way from Tulsa and we had the best time getting to know one another at her session. There was such a sweet bond between her and her six month old son, Lane and I was tickled to be able to document that. Keisha brought two gorgeous dresses and the most adorable little overalls for Lane and it all just flowed seamlessly and turned out to be one of my favorite sessions to date!

Boulter Family Spring Session | Oklahoma City Photographers

Many families start booking their annual portrait sessions in the fall, which is lovely, but do you know MY favorite time of year for outdoor sessions for families? Right. Now. Spring and early Summer. The grass is freshly green, wildflowers (or weeds, depending on your perspective) are scattered, the sweet summer sun kisses every frame. And best of all, it’s not super hot quite yet (Pro tip: Do not come in sweaters to your September/October session, it is still pretty warm in Oklahoma in the fall, because hello…we do not have fall here, boo.)

This beautiful family came from El Reno to meet me at the field for photos. After such a wet Spring and so many sessions rained out, I was delighted to have the perfect evening complete with a gorgeous sunset for this golden hour session. We laughed much and I pulled out all my crazy.

Worth it.
