She melted my heart with her sweet smile and beautiful red hair. I was so tickled to be able to get this family in for their newborn portrait session today before she hits the two week mark tomorrow. It was a cold and gloomy day, but the studio was warm and the cloudy light flooded in magically.

This family was such a joy to photograph! This beautiful mama and I collaborated to create clothing choices for her family that photographed so beautifully. The subtle textures and soft, muted tones allowed the real, raw emotion to be the focus of the photos instead of loud colors, trendy patterns, and forced poses.

I loved seeing this darling girl again this morning for her Storybook Collection session. It feels like her newborn portrait session was just yesterday.  She was all smiles then and was all smiles today!

Baby Connor’s Glimpse | Oklahoma City Newborn Photographer

A new baby is like the beginning of all things—wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities.

I was especially excited to meet this little baby for an in-home newborn session yesterday. Several weeks ago his parents and I met for coffee to discuss their desires for a maternity and newborn  portrait session. Shortly after we met that evening, his mama was admitted to the hospital so I packed up my gear and we did the maternity session at the hospital of all places. Although it wasn’t our ideal location, it turned out beautifully (You can see it here). 

I was so happy when they contacted me with the news that little Connor had arrived and I had the loveliest time capturing them as a family yesterday morning. I feel so honored to be a small part of this special time in their lives.

Expecting in Unexpected Places | Oklahoma City Maternity Photographer

I had a maternity session scheduled for this week when my sweet client texted and said she’d be admitted to the hospital. So this morning was a first for me... I packed up a few dresses and my camera and headed to the hospital to see if we could still get that maternity portrait she so desired. We found a little pocket of light in the huge, dark, dismal building and I was so thankful to be able to capture this memory for this beautiful mama.  Can’t wait to meet this little boy (soon!)
